Cat’s Cradle
Cat’s Cradle for Dismal’sChild
——————————————-

the stars fell to earth that night in savage scimitar arcs Orion dropped his bow and she caught it up, an infant Sekhmet wrapped in pink blankets.
i gave birth to a Goddess she spoke a barbarian tongue all purrs and roars
and how her father bent to her will he curled round her finger just like a ring he did not see the claws growing there or her hypodermic fangs erupting, either. she sang a barbarian’s song a siren’s enchantment and devoured him at once heart and all.
she grew feral on the edge of the village a hunnish smile playing at her lips and a dagger at her hip she comes to the border in the wilderness and counts the offerings left her there laughing sphinx of the wood… she has a barbarian tongue. |
